There were nine five-star officers in our Country's short history, four Navy and five Army. Seven were promoted during World War II, and two shortly after that. General Omar Bradley, the first Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, was the last officer to wear the five-star rank. All nine of these officers were character-driven, had a purpose, expressed a vision, and inspired soldiers, seamen, and airmen to act virtuously in defending our great Nation.
These nine officers led defenders of our Country in a time of world crisis. They serve as models and leaders, although flawed, who were character bound, purposeful, visionary, inspirational, and demanded virtuous actions of their followers.
It is the cornerstone of your ability to lead and is projected by your belief, behavior, virtue, words, and actions.
It is the reason for being, doing, and having. You define it, followers seek it, and your vision delivers it.
It is being able to communicate clearly and directly where you are taking followers and the reason why.
This is what motivates your followers to act and achieve your vision.
Is how you get virtuous results.
